Ask for It
Home care agencies can often have just a few online reviews, which can decrease web traffic or even make potential clients nervous that you don’t have a lot of customers. Choose to actively solicit online reviews from current and past clients, family members, and even professional referral sources. This is easier than it sounds, as you can add a link to your review site in your email signature or simply ask after a productive meeting with a family member or referral source. Further, if you solve a specific problem for a client or their family and they are pleased with the result, ask them if they would mind taking time to give you a positive online review. You’ll be surprised at how many more reviews you can get online by simply asking.
Use Multiple Platforms
Today’s online reviews can be done across multiple platforms, and you don’t want to funnel reviewers to just one site. Instead, choose three sites. Consider Facebook, Google, and Yelp or pick another site based on your local preferences.
Reply, Thank, and Follow Up
When reviewers post a review, whether a negative or a positive one, your agency should follow up with a reply via the review platform. This increases engagement and also gives you the chance to highlight your relationship with the reviewer (“It was our pleasure to serve your mom…”) or to follow up with any negative feedback (“we’re sorry to hear about your experience, but we want to make things right…”). If a review was left on a site because you asked the person to take time to complete one, ensure you send along a quick email or voicemail thanking them for taking the time to do so.
Use Reviews in Your Marketing Strategy
Home care online reviews are excellent to use in your social media or other marketing strategies. Just be sure to use first name and last initials only along with a few sentences or phrases of the review to ensure client privacy. Highlight 5-star reviews at least once per month on your social media accounts, and tag professional referral sources when you quote their feedback about your agency.
Online reviews are just as important as word-of-mouth referrals that people give to their neighbors or friends. Ensure you are taking care to cultivate online reviews so that you can grow your business and foster trust with potential clients.
